Steve is a Northern California native, having grown up and attended high school in the Redding area. His job and
passion for fishing and hunting brought him to Trinity County on a weekly basis where he met his wife Terri. Since
1992 Junction City has been home. Living only 1/4 mile from the riverbank makes a short commute on workdays.
He has two grown daughters, living in the Redding area.
Steve began guiding hunters and packing horses for Columbian Blacktail deer and Bear in the Northern California
wilderness areas. In 1999 he established Steve's Trinity Guide Service, and focused his attention on fishing the
Trinity River. Steve's passion for fishing and knowledge of the river and fish, are what make his
fishing trips successful.
Steve enjoys kindling that special bond between father and child, watching relationships grow between
husband and wife, and simply being a part of that special relationship shared between long time friends getting
together for "old times sake" as they float down this beautiful river. Whatever your aim, Steve will make your
trip enjoyable. Steve is one of the hardest working guides on the river. If you know Steve, then you know his trips
are fun and you're sure to get some fish.
And now about "Rio". Rio is a 5 year old German Wirehair Pointer, and according to Steve, the most beautiful
dog in the world. Don't worry, Rio only fishes on Steve's days off or by special invitation.
